#161 MGP Summer Solstice June 20th 6:15pm Results Updated 6/24

Hi All

We had a wonderful night for a race.   Sunny and dry and not to warm.  Portland Parks had closed Lower Macleay trail and had fenced it off with a chain link fence so we took a detour.  I kept the course the same length, going up to Holman Lane to hit Wild Wood and then to keep the distance the same we did an out and back towards the Stone Hult.   Since we added an extra hill many thought this was a tougher course than normal.  It was nice to have the out and back on Wild Wood to see more of the runners.

#160 MGP Vernal Equinox March 20th at 6:15pm.

Well we had few runners turn out for what turned out to be a raining and muddy run with a few obstacles thrown in the way (multipile down trees.)   Here are the updated results.

Attendance has been down for these races.    Does anyone want to help with advertising/marketing the race?    Other than the summer race last year the number of runners on race day has been in the teens.

Next race is Tuesday June 20th.

Race Results #159 Winter Solstice Saturday Dec 17th at 9am.

We had 13 racers today on a cold day.  The majority of the course was snow or ice covered.   It was very icy going up Lower Macleay trail and icy down Thurman.   Wildwood trail was perfect, hard packed snow the majority of the trail.  There were still a few down trees but they had cleaned up a few of the worst ones.

Race Results #158 Vernal Equinox Sept 22nd at 6pm

We had a perfect night last night for the Mud Grand Prix.  The Swifts were out in force too, we were told twice as many birds as last year.  They were very fun to watch.

We only had 10 runners last night so hopefuly we will have better turn out for the Winter Solstice.   Please send in your times if you like.

Here are the results and invite a friend to the next race.

Race Results#156 Vernal Equinox 19March16 Updated 3/22

We had one of the first dry Saturdays of the year today for the Vernal Equinox run.   It was a very nice day for the MGP and the course had dried out nicely compared to previous weeks.   We had pretty sparse turnout for such a great day though, 14 runners at the regular start time.   I already have a few times sent in for those who raced early.

Next race is Tuesday June 21st at 6:15pm.   Tell all your friends we could use a few more runners out for the summer race.

Race Results #155 -Winter Solstice, Sunday Dec 20th at 9am

We had 21 runners start on a cold and wet morning.  The course was in good shape considering how much rain we have had.

We had a few runners complete all four races in 2015, Dean Justice, Ellie Justice, Del Scharffenberg, John Beight, Steve Cackley, E David Granum, Bill McCracken, & Nathan

Someone pointed out today you can get to some undersiable websites if you search for the website on google.  I am not sure why and I will try to fix but if you type in www.mudgrandprix.net into your browser window it should take you to the website.

Results of Autumnal Equinox Race#154 on Sept 23rd, 6pm

We had very nice weather last night and and 22 runners.   Very fast and dry course.  The Swifts were out in full force and many stayed to watch them go down the chimmeny along with a hawk who grabbed one.  Large crowd to watch the birds.

If there are any corrections to the results please let me know.   I was a little late on hitting the finish times on a few runners.

Thankyou to Jen for bringing cookies.

Next race is Sunday Dec 20th at 9am.   The actual solstice is on Monday Dec 21st.
