Results for Winter Solstice Dec 17, 11 at 9am Race #139

We had a great day today, perfect weather for the winter race, sunny and cool.   Trail was fast for this time of the year as we have had so little rain in December this year.   We had a great turnout for the race too.   22 runners on race day.

It was the candy bar award day for those with perfect attendence this year.   Mack Stilson, Nathan Hult, Erik Scharffenberg, Joe Kregal, David H Walters, Robert Mow, Del Scharffenberg, E David Granum, and Bill McCracken all received candy bar.   Unfornately Steve Cackley was injured and did not race, he sounded like he might not even be able to get a time for the race which would be the first time since 1978 when the race started.

Mack Stilson won and his daughter, Kelsey was the 1st women.

Received early times from Fred Willet.   His report is below.

"I ran the course on tuesday evening starting at about 5:10pm. Dark the whole way. I ran the course in 1:13:31. There was two obstacles on the course both being trees the first was passable by dunking under it unless the runner is sub 4 being less than four feet tall and the other was easlly jumped over unless the runner can not jump over two feet high. Thank you in advance for keeping this event alive Thanks the WILDMAN!! Fred E Willet"

Also received time from Andy Ruff

"I ran today, 12/15, my daughter has a soccer game Sat at 9am.  My time was 1:13:54.  There are a couple trees down across trail and there are some muddy spots.  Have fun Saturday!
Andy Ruff"

I ran it on Friday with two

I ran it on Friday with two friends from our barefoot club. I left town early Saturday so I couldn't make the race. So our times were all the same as we jogged it together.

Daniel Martinek 1:18:00

I see that Mike O. ran a smoking fast time. A big congrats to Mack as well!
