Results Summer Solstice 6-20-12 at 6:09pm

We had a good turnout and a nice warm evening, 80 deg, with perfect trail conditions.     We had 26 runners last night with 8 of them being 1st time runners.   I already have 3 times sent in.  My thanks to the Wetzel's for helping to time and to Jen for bringing cookies.  Any corrections please let me know?   A cell phone was left last night at the race.  I left it with Josh Humbert as he lives in Portland.

Results MGP Vernal Equinox Race March 19, 2012 6pm.

We had a small but hardy group of runners turn out for the muddy race.   It was cold 44 but the rain held off for the most part.  The course was a lot of fun if you like the challenge of running in the mud.   It wasn't too bad except for the Dogwood trail where you really had to slow down.

Next Race Saturday Dec 22nd at 9am #143

The last race of the year is coming up soon.   Come on out and enjoy the mud.   For new runners, just show up and sign in before the race, no preregistration is needed.   The last race was lightly attened so invite your friends to come race.   I invited Connor's high school x-country team, hopefully a few make it out.

I haven't run the course in a few weeks but it looks like someone blew the leaves off on the Dogwood trail.  Last time I ran it the leaves on top of the mud made it very slippery.

Measured course today!

I bought a wheel at Home Depot last weekend and went and measured the MGP course today.   It had been measured once before, about 10 years ago but I wanted to verify the distances.   My distances were close just a tad bit longer.   I will calll these the official distances now.   6.76 overall length.   Here are the measurements.

Results for Entire 2011

I finally compiled all the race results for the entire 2011.   We had a total of 67 racers for the year almost identical to the 70 we had in 2010.

Results for Winter Solstice Dec 17, 11 at 9am Race #139

We had a great day today, perfect weather for the winter race, sunny and cool.   Trail was fast for this time of the year as we have had so little rain in December this year.   We had a great turnout for the race too.   22 runners on race day.

Suggested donation amount per race

The MGP is very inexpensive to run but modest donations are appreciated.   However in the last few races a few runners have been too generous in their donations.   A quite a few people have asked me how much they should donate?   Well I finally figured out expenses.   It works out about $1.50 per race per runner, or yearly donation of $6 if you do all the races.   Please do not feel obligated to donate, this is just a guideline and to give visibility to the group what expenses are.

Results for Autumnal Equinox race 9/23/2011

We had a great race last night over 29 runners on race day with four first time runners.  It was warm evening I had 86 when I pulled up to the park.   It was much cooler in Forest Park but coming out of the park down to the finish it was pretty warm.

There was by far the largest crowd for Swift watching after the race, we had to dodge quite a few people at the finish line.

Here is a first cut at results.  Let me know if I made any mistakes.

Results for Summer Solstice Run June 21, 6pm

We had a nice warm evening last night, 82, for the Summer Solstice run.  What a great way to start the summer off, we also had great attendance, 34 runners ran the race.  This is despite some bad traffic, we had two runners that were stuck in it and started a few minutes late.

I have received many pre-race times so the total is 42 runners.  The great attendance was helped with 17 first time runners.  Another first for the MGP we had a few runners from the local barefoot running club join us.

Vernal Equinox, Results from race March 20, 2011 at 4pm

We had 15 runners come race on Sunday.   We lucked out and the rain held off until the last runner finished.   The trails were muddy but they have been worse.

I also added four runners that missed the race but ran at alternate times.   Send me your time if you missed the race and I can add it to the result.

Sorry for the delay posting the results, I left immediately after the race for 3 days of skiing at Mt Hood and I forgot to bring the clip board with the results.
